No longer just a transit stop, Krabi Town is a lively, bustling town. Entertainment in town at night is rapidly growing and nightspots are springing up all the time. Highlights include a few modern clubs, quiet bars for meeting friends and some excellent restaurants.

Krabi Town is an excellent spot for travellers to organize trips to explore this beautiful province. The main pier on the Chao Fah river has all the details for ferries to Koh Phi-Phi, Koh Jum and Koh Lanta as well as longtails to explore the islands and bays.

Krabi Town - Places Of Interest

Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Cave)

Krabi's most famous attraction, Tiger Cave, a beautiful collection of small temples and natural cave dwellings, still used by local monks. In each cave are some beautiful Buddhist shrines and monuments.

Wat Sai Thai

Krabi's central temple is the local gathering point for any Buddhist event and houses an impressive reclining Buddha. If there is either a wedding or funeral in the area, this is the scene of a great party.

Khao Khanap Nam

These mountains, walling the river in between, are kind of the entrance to Krabi. They are accessible by a few minutes boat trip from the provincial landing. Beautiful caves worth seeing are also located here.

Island Hopping

Krabi has many tiny off-shore islands with beautiful unspoilt beaches and bays. One of the better trips is the "Four islands tour", taking in Chicken Island, James Bond island and a couple of beautiful bays.
